Job Description:

Project Manager  Capital Project Engineering

  • Experience project management responsibilities for planning, scheduling and organizing project activities.  This includes new capital projects, renovations/retrofits, process improvements, as they related to the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Define project scopes of work in collaboration with cross-functional departments and senior management as required.

  • Develop project budgets, justifications (e.g. ROI, compliance etc.), and draft Capital Expenditure Requests.

  • Solicit bids from suppliers, contractor, design firms and other service providers

  • Issue RFPs and negotiate contracts with suppliers

  • Create a detailed work plan/schedule which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.

  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project

  • Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required

  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion

  • Author written Project Plans, URSes, design specifications to meet internal policy and compliance requirements.

  • In consultation with the project sponsor, recruit, interview and select staff and third party firms and services for the project

  • Manage project staff according to the established policies and practices

  • Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the project

  • Execute the project according to the project plan

  • Develop forms and records to document project activities

  • Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured

  • Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project

  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project

  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards

  • Routinely update senior management with concise and clear reports on the project status that will include cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance, risks, and action plans to keep the project on track

  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures

 

Requirements:

Bachelors of Science in an Engineering Discipline.

Minimum of 7years experience at managing projects or combination of a related degree with work experience.  Experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred.  A certified PMP is a plus.
